My great grandfather came to America from Ireland around 1877-1880"s. He traveled across the country by train to live with his brother Dan in San Francisco. Later he moved to the northwest, worked on the railroad and accumulated land, hotel in Portland, Oregon.

He and wife Jenny (Scott) lived in Hilgard and had 5 children, my grandmother Nora was one of the children.
I'm traveling to Ireland in September and would love to know where family are buried. I believe somewhere around Cork..?

Hi, I am looking for details or information about John Casey 1805 1876 of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland and his family, including forebares. The information I have located indicates he was born in Walshtown and lived in Conmoyle, both of which are townlands in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. One of his sons lived at the townland of Bryanstown in Mullingar. Getting confirmed details beyond the late 1800 or 1700's is challenging. Oral tradition, supported by family members now in their nineties, says the Casey's were in Co. Westmeath and before that Co. Cork. The time of the move is uncertain.

Dear All, I am looking for my bio father, whose surname is Casey. But he worked before in USA Navy, in Hawaii, per my adoptive families stories. But later I got more info, that he and/ or his families or ancestors, have been living/ connecting also, to the British Isles. I did dna tests, but in Ancestry DNA, I do not take the Tracing Region dna tests, so, I got not so details. My adoptive mother too, told me that my bio father, that Casey has a bit East Asian mixed, which are more common in Hawaii. But I just sight seeing here, so just in case, any one can advise me how to find more about our Irish ancestors, and whether there are any DNA tests projects, like the Jewish DNA tests projects. Thanks so much. Regards - Michelle

Good day I am doing my genealogy and am a descendant of a certain Roger Casey born c. 1646 "in Ireland" who landed in Acadia, New France (nowaday called New Bunswick, Canada) c. 1660. Some family rumors hint towards Co Cork... maybe Mitchelstwon. I am schedule to visit Ireland in June 2016 and would like to investigate "on site" into some archives, if such exists. I am wondering if you could either givc me some indication as to where to look for or whom to contact that could help me on this quest. Here is the website of our family where you can peak into what we have been able to discover so far about our lineage. http://caissiefamily.org/ Best regards from Montreal, Canada --
